Terms & Conditions

Opening Times

We’re open for 15-minute interval drop off and pickups on Monday-Friday 10:30am-12pm & 7pm-9pm, Saturday 10am-12pm BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. We are closed and unavailable for pickups, drop-offs and Sundays, bank holidays, Christmas Eve & New Years Eve

 

Deposit, Days Charged, and Prices

A minimum non-refundable deposit of $20(per enclosure) is required to secure a booking. This deposit will be deducted from the final bill. An additional deposit is required for each additional service requested, including if dates change.

A minimum stay of $40 is required for booking.

 

Deposits are due upon time of booking, payable by e-transfer to admin@gwnpetcare.com

 

We charge 1.5x the standard rate during bank holidays. This includes Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, and New Years Day.

 

If a booking is made with less than a week's notice(7 days), you must pay the price of services in full at the time of booking.

 

100% of the deposit will be refunded upon cancellation due to a deceased pet, with proof/confirmation from a vet.

 

The deposit can be transferred to an alternative date if needed. Must rebook future dates within 60 days/2 months from the time of cancellation. Please note - we may not be able to guarantee availability for the future date.

 

 

The client agrees to pay all charges accrued for services rendered and understands that payment is due at or prior to the time of the commencement of services unless explicitly agreed upon supplementary payment terms. (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly)

 

Cancellation/Late Payment Policy

Any services canceled or date changes within a week of the requested dates, the client will be responsible for paying 100% of the overall total. 

If the client retrieves the pet before the confirmed last day of service, the client will be responsible for paying 100% of the total. 

 

Any services canceled within 2 weeks of requested dates will be charged 50% of the overall total.

 

If the payment isn't made to Great White North Pet Care by the arranged date and time, there will be a late fee of $1 every 24-hr period that follows. The surcharge will only end once the full payment has been received, or the client has made a new agreement with Great White North Pet Care.

 

Any fees not paid will be taken to small claims court, and paid for by the client.

 

Health & Safety

Great White North Pet Care has the right to cancel any booking at any time if the animal that's being boarded is not up to date on its required vaccinations. This includes cats, dogs & rabbits. 

 

In the event the client's pet begins to show signs of illness or requires emergency care, Great White North Pet Care will immediately attempt to contact the client or their emergency contact to discuss the situation. 

If we are unable to contact the client and emergency contact (no phone calls or texts answered within 5 minutes) or the situation is terrible enough Great White North Pet Care reserves the right to bring the client's pet to the closest emergency vet. 

All costs will be billed to the client over the phone before the release of the pet back into Great White North Pet Care care. For bookings longer than 2 weeks, a credit card may be required on file.

 

Great White North Pet Care reserves the right to refuse services if a pet appears sick upon arrival with an unknown, not previously discussed medical illness.

We require the client to fill and sign a contract releasing Great White North Pet Care of all responsibility if your pet has a pre-existing medical condition.

Here is a list of what may qualify as a pre-existing condition/ailment/illness(curable and incurable);

  • Respiratory infections

  • Urinary tract/bladder infections

  • Vomiting, diarrhea, & other gastrointestinal disorders

  • Other curable conditions

  • Any orthopedic condition, as well as any orthopedic illness or injury on the opposite side of a prior injury.

  • Allergies

  • Cancer

  • Diabetes

  • Lipomas or skin lumps

  • Hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism

  • Urinary or bladder crystals or blockages

  • Other chronic conditions

The client MUST transport PETS IN AN APPROPRIATE CARRIER- This is used in the prevention of any accidents.

If the client does not provide one, one will be purchased and charged to the client's account. This includes Guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits & various reptiles. Dogs are exempt.

Unacceptable carriers:

  • Carrier bags, bags for life

  • Cardboard boxes- any size any pets. This included guinea pigs, birds, hamsters, rabbits, etc

  • Dog crates or dog cages

  • Storage boxes

  • Military crates

  • Large cages. For those bringing their own cage, you still need to bring the animal separately in a carrier. I can't take your cage to the vets if it needs to see a vet.

This is not a complete list.

 

Carriers are kept here, so if in an emergency, we can take your pet to the vet. We cannot do this if you do not bring a proper carrier that is clean and secure.

 

There will be a $10 charge to clean any carriers or cages that arrive dirty. We have the right to deem what is considered unclean. This will be a compulsory charge upon arrival and added to your invoice to pay before your pet(s) leave.

These are non-negotiable terms.

 

Liability 

In the event that the client's pet(s) causes an accident, injury, or creates any other damages, the client will accept full responsibility for all medical expenses and damage repairs necessary.

 

The client agrees to notify Great White North Pet Care of any concerns within 24 hours of completion of services. 

 

Although Great White North Pet Care will do everything within their power to prevent any of the following, the client accepts that Great White North Pet Care is not responsible for sickness, injury, escapes, loss accidents, or death of their pet(s).

In the event that the pet(s) is in an accident, receive an injury, or have any other damages, The client accepts full responsibility for all medical expenses and damage repairs necessary. It's also the clients' responsibility to have pet insurance, although not necessary.

Great White North Pet Care will follow the directions of the 'Veterinary Release Form' if a pet should become injured or sick. 

 

The client waives and releases Great White North Pet Care from any claims against the company, its directors, officers, shareholders, employees, assistants, members, and agents. This includes claims of Great White North Pet Care negligence, suits, actions, loss, injury, or damage of any nature or kind. In the event of a claim made by any person injured or otherwise damaged by my pet or negligent act, I agree to indemnify and defend Great White North Pet Care and all its representatives.

 

 In the case of an emergency, inclement weather, or a natural disaster, the client authorizes Great White North Pet Care to use reasonable judgment for the care and well-being of my pets and residence. Great White North Pet Care will make reasonable efforts to maintain service during these conditions but reserves the right to adjust the service schedule based on the sole discretion of the Pet Sitter. 

 

In Clients Home

If required to perform services, the client gives Great White North Pet Care and its representatives the authority to enter the listed address to perform agreed-upon services.

If there is a malfunction of the lock, keys, or automatic door opener, the client will give Great White North Pet Care and its representatives the authority to employ a locksmith and promptly reimburse for all costs incurred.

 In the event that there is a loss or damage of property resulting from a burglary or other crime, the client agrees to not hold Great White North Pet Care or its representative liable while under this contract.

The client agrees to ensure the door is properly secured prior to leaving. Great White North Pet Carer will re-secure the home to the best of its ability at the end of each visit. 

The client is responsible for supplying the necessary equipment and supplies needed for the care of their pet(s) including, but not limited to, a sturdy, well-fit harness or collar and leash for walks or in case of emergencies, pet food, medications, identification tags, litter boxes, cat litter and cleaning supplies. The client authorizes any purchase necessary for the satisfactory performance of duties. The client will reimburse costs of all assets and related service fees to Great White North Pet Care within 14 days.

The client authorizes this contract to be valid for services to permit Great White North Pet Care to accept all future in-person, telephone, online, mail, or email reservations and provide services without additional signed contracts or written authorizations.

 

 

Non-Collection

If a pet is not picked up within 7 days of the last date of service, Great White North Pet Care will consider the pet 'abandoned' and reserves the right to rehome the pet, and all services will still be charged in full to the client. 

 

Media

The client authorizes the use of their pet(s) pictures on the company's website, social media, and marketing materials for promotional purposes.

The Terms of this document apply to all pets owned by the client, including any new pets that the customer obtains on or after the date the client signed this document.

Great White North Pet Care reserves the right to terminate this contract at any time if the Pet Sitter, in their sole discretion, determines that the client's pet(s) poses a danger to the health or safety of itself, other pets, other people or the Pet Sitter.

If concerns prohibit the Pet Sitter from caring for the client's pet(s), Great White North Pet Carer will attempt to contact the client and emergency contacts to arrange alternative care. If Great White North Pet Care cannot reach the client, Great White North Pet Care is authorized to place the pet in a licensed kennel with all charges arising to be the client's responsibility.

Great White North Pet Care reserves the right to refuse service to any client, at any time, for any reason.
