Why do I need to supply an emergency contact? At GWN Pet Care, we understand that pet parents can't always be available in the event of an emergency situation. That's why it's important to provide us with an emergency contact who can be reached in the event of a medical emergency or other urgent situation. Having an emergency contact on file ensures that your pet will receive the care they need in the event you are unavailable.
-
Who can be my emergency contact?Your emergency contact should be someone who is available 24/7 and can pick up your pet in case of emergency(local). This person should also have your pet’s health records and be familiar with your pet’s daily care routine. We recommend that you provide us with two emergency contacts, so that we can reach out to someone if your first contact is unavailable.
-
Who is responsible for the veterinary costs?Veterinary costs incurred during pet care visits are not covered by GWN Pet Care. It is the pet owner's responsibility to pay all veterinary expenses directly to the veterinarian prior to returning the pet to us. For those without phone service or staying long-term, we may require credit card information on file. In circumstances when we can't reach the owner, their emergency contact(s) or when we are unable to confirm the owner's preferred action due to limited time and life-saving decisions, GWN Pet Care will only authorize veterinary care up to the maximum amount specified by the pet owner on their individual animals' 'Time to Pet' profiles.
